Sun Valley Tradition
Every August for the past 49 years, the Killebrew-Thompson Memorial has gathered people from across the country around a common goal:
Find a cure for leukemia and other cancers
What began as a golf tournament among friends has expanded beyond the golf course into a three-day affair showcasing the best of Sun Valley. The traditional event lineup includes an Idaho Welcome BBQ, Live & Silent Auction Gala, Concert for a Cure, and outdoor activities that include fly fishing, sport shooting, horseback riding, and whitewater rafting.

Tournament Details
Participant Benefits
Choice to participate in the Golf Tournament, or as a General Participant.
Golfers receive two tournament golf rounds & the choice of one Participant Activity.
General participants may choose a Participant Activity for each day of the event.
Participant Fee – $3,000
$250 credit to Tee Gift Showroom at WHOLESALE pricing ($500 retail value).
Entry for participant and guest to Social Functions.
Entry for participant’s guest to Social Guest Activities.
Concert for a Cure tickets for participant and guest.
GOLF Tournament Format
Golf tournament is four-person, two best-ball over two-days at Sun Valley Golf’s Trail Creek and Elkhorn Golf Courses.
Max Handicap: Men 24 | Women 36.
Competition concludes at the River Run Lodge with trophies awarded to the three lowest scoring teams, low net and low gross, longest drive and closest to the pin for individual men and women.

Welcome BBQ
Kick off the weekend with a Western welcome at Sun Valley’s historic Trail Creek Cabin! Dig in to classic Gem State fare to the sounds of live music and Trail Creek babbling nearby while taking in views of Bald Mountain.

GALA
Toast wins in the fight against cancer and raise paddles to a cancer-free future. The live and silent auctions feature an array of carefully curated packages—from exclusive experiences to collectibles. Enjoy live music, cocktails, and dinner by one of Sun Valley’s master chefs.

The two-day tournament concludes with an awards ceremony that presents trophies to:
- 3 lowest score teams
- Low Gross Individual
- Low Net Individual
- Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin for each course, each day

Sing and dance along to timeless classics at River Run Lodge nestled at the base of Bald Mountain.

On the day before the tournament (or during if you’re not a golfer), participants can choose from six activities that showcase
the beauty of the Sun Valley area. Social guests may join for an additional fee.

Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines serve the Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN), located 12 miles from the Sun Valley Resort with daily flights to/from Denver (DEN), Los Angeles (LAX), Salt Lake City (SLC), San Francisco (SFO), and Seattle (SEA).
Boise (BOI), Twin Falls (TWF), Idaho Falls (IDA), and Salt Lake City (SLC) are alternative airport choices. Driving times: Boise 2.5 hours | Twin Falls 2-hours | Idaho Falls 2.75-hours | Salt Lake City 4.25-hours.
Sun Valley Express offers daily, year-round shuttle service between the Boise Airport and Sun Valley Lodge.
